                       Training & Placement Officer
There are always some experiences in life which you cherish to remember. Some special moments on some special occasions. One engineering student would always remember the day on which he / she got his first job in life. .
The Placement Office serves to merely bridge the gap between a job-aspirant and a prospective employer.

“The goal is to help to build a long – term career with leading organizations and not just place the students".Words from Placement officer

Lendi has been growing up in leaps and bounds in its due course of journey having each member of the organization to meet its wise mission. The details of the Planning for the Training and Placement activity in our organization as the following:

There are two sub-wings to concentrate immediately to get the end success for the first outgoing batch by 2012 especially in terms of placements.  They are:

  • In-house Training
  • Placement Assistance

In-House Training is meant for training the students’ aptitude towards the requirements of the industry and making them ready to take up challenges.  In this regard, we have already initiated a few programmes

  • Training Programme in two parts by M/S Shriram Value Services, Chennai for third year students.  The first Part is already conducted at the end of III 1 in Oct-Nov, 2010.  On an inquiry, Mr. Subrahamanyam has shown interest to conduct a three day training session that is due at the end of IV 1 for the enrolled candidates.

  • CRT Programme by M/S Conduira, Visakhapatnam, is ongoing since 18th February, 2011 and the second phase is rigorously scheduled between 5th May and 14th May, 2011 for the enrolled III year Students to make use of their summer vacation and it continues till end of the first month of their IV 1 semester.

Programmes to be followed

  • CRT Programme by M/S Soft fish Technologies, Hyderabad and M/S KEN, Vizag is scheduled to be conducted between 22nd November, 2011 and 2nd December, 2011, for the enrolled III year Students to make use of their summer vacation and it continues till end of the first month of their IV 1 semester.

Other skill set is also equally important to move towards the end goal as fast as we can.  Hence we are in track with a few training, innovative and professional bodies to guide the students in line with the requirement.  They are ……….

  • Engineers without Boarders (EWB-India) Chapter to work in teams along with others in facilitating voluntary service by engineers through their creativity for the benefit of the society.  Main aim of introducing of it is to inculcate a spirit among the students to encourage them in developing their creativity.  In view of this, on 6th May, 2011 Dr. Ashok Agarwal, President of this organization and alumni of BITs of Pilani is coming to address our students under the guidance of Sri Ratna Rao garu, Cyber Consultancy, Hyderabad.
  • Srujana and Duke ship-shaping India 2020 a non profitable organization to stimulate the engineers to bring the best out of them by engaging in real-time projects.
  • Business English Certificate (BEC) an internationally acclaimed Certificate issued by Cambridge University, London is being planned.  In this regard, CFBT an official Organization in India to promote the candidates to this exam, is also corresponded with.  Sri Gudivaka Prasad Executive Director of CfBT Education Resource Management Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad has promised to give an affiliation of the said Trust to our organization to promote the students to the exam.  By this both the students who would like to go abroad and the teachers of English get benefitted.
  • Foundation Course for Communication Skills (FCCS Programme) by APSCHE and E-Plus Clubs by The Hindu are however, continued with the same tinge.
  • Basics of Android Technology a 7 day training programme by Coign Technologies, Hyderabad to bring awareness on the basics of advanced
  • IBM DB2 Workshop, a 3 day workshop is conducted for knowing about the IBM DB2 tool by IEG-JKC Team Vizag.  38 students have been certified as IBM DB2 Professionals

Placement Assistance is an area through which the training and placement cell has to interact with the network outside the campus to drive the students in grabbing the opportunities in the real time world. For this purpose we planned to get in touch with the HR managers and successful Placement Officers.  As part of it we have come close to a few HR Managers as the following:

  • Mr. Ajit Kumar Rachpudi of TCS and Mr. GVS Bhaskar of Siemens have consented to be in touch with us.
  • Our interest is communicated to CMC Ltd, Mahindra Satyam, Efftronics, Verizon, Adeaquare, Kenexa etc., and waiting for their replies
  • Being in touch with the successful TPOs of nearby Colleges to request them to consider us for off-campus drives.
  • Going vigorously to Software Companies around Vizag to establish a relationship with their HR Managers to meet the goal.  As part of it we met a few HRs in the Job Fair conducted in B.R.Ambedkar University on 1st May, 2011 and  in the Job Fair conducted in Andhra University on 30th  and 31st October, 2011 as part of Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu
  • Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) registration has been made for the Star Status with 171 students as members and seriously pursuing the plans

Better interaction between Technical Institutions and industry is the need of the hour. This has a great bearing on the Engineering Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to engineering students and subsequent placement of young graduating engineers in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition among the industries has become stiff. To solve their engineering problems they look up now to Engineering Institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to newer technologies and engineering methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and an academic institute.

So to supplement this requirement we at Lendi consistently plan to arrange for training in our College campus, generally in the months of November / May every year

We are in the process of understanding with a few of the top notch companies like:
IBM,
Infosys,
TCS
Syntel,
Tech Mahindra
for a tie-up & setting up of advanced training Programmes

All the students are hereby directed to mail in their resumes, (mail to tpo.lendi@gmail.com for CV’s format indicating your class and branch).

All your mails must be addressed to: Training Incharge/Placement Officer, Lendi Institute of Engineering and Technology.
